Join CIRCA Projects for a special film intervention at The Shipley Art Gallery using the Saltwell Park Museum Collection. This new work celebrates the centenary of The Shipley Art Gallery, Gateshead and is the product of a workshop devised and led by Giles Bailey.
Giles Bailey and a group of artist collaborators will make a film over one day – in an attempt to unlock the latent power of anonymous artefacts from the collection. Between 3-4pm they will mine the museum’s collection, creating a temporary installation.
This event is devised by Giles Bailey as an outcome of World Is Sudden: Summer Lab, a 7-day programme (5-11 July) of performances, talks, screenings and workshops exploring the north east of England as a context for art production.
Giles Bailey works largely with performance, writing or strategically appropriating texts that he performs himself.
